Ontario Government - Asking for your Input

Earlier this year, the government announced that it would be undertaking a comprehensive review of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). As a first step, the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services is using an online survey to learn about consumers awareness and understanding of the CPA and their experiences when making purchases.

We recognize that the province’s state of emergency and the ongoing efforts to promote physical distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19 has had a substantial impact on consumers and businesses. As a result, we have included new survey questions related to the impact of COVID-19.

We also want to ensure that our stakeholders have sufficient time to submit feedback and as a result, we have extended the survey by seven weeks. The survey will now close on June 30, 2020.

If you’re interested in completing the survey, you can find it at Ontario.ca/ConsumerReview. Please share this survey with others who you think would be interested.

If you have already completed the survey, but would like to provide responses to the added questions related to COVID-19, please email your responses to consumerpolicy@ontario.ca.

Thank you for your engagement on this important consumer protection initiative.
