In light of research being conducted in the Region of Waterloo and City of Guelph

on alternative technologies to traditional Water Softeners; CWQA would like to highlight a great opportunity.
The Water Treatment Industry, like any other industrious profession continues to look for innovations to improve existing products and create new, complementary solutions. An industry cannot claim to be thriving without this innovation. As the research initiatives in above mentioned municipalities shows, the demand for innovation does not always come from within. In fact, it is indicative of how important water treatment is, when municipalities are willing to fund research without private sponsors’ capital into greener and more efficient solutions.
Manufacturers ensure their competitive edge by continually investing in development of alternative water-softening technology. These technologies when available to the dealer market will offer a growth and marketing opportunity and enhance a dealers’ offering to provide an option for their more eco-savvy customers.
CWQA invites its members to view these initiatives not as foreign or threatening concepts but more a gradual, informed integration of emerging technologies. Integrations that will continue to give CWQA members the edge over their competitors and adaptivity in a changing market; where water will always be a commodity.
CWQA had Mr. Steve Gombos from the Region of Waterloo at the 2017 AGM and Member Meeting in Waterloo this year. The concepts in this news article were touched on at our panel discussion in May 2017. As a member driven association, we continue to engage with stakeholders and innovators.

All that said, at this point the study in Waterloo and Guelph is just that, a study. Results and analysis are not expected until early 2019.
Meanwhile, we welcome your comments and encourage you to speak with your trusted partners in business; your suppliers, wholesalers and manufacturers.

Let us ensure that CWQA excellence means that you are poised to be first to market when opportunity knocks.
