CWQA Annual General Meeting


May 26, 2020  |  1:00 pm EDT




The Annual General Meeting of CWQA will be held virtually, Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 1:00 pm EDT for the following purposes:

  1. To receive and consider the Annual Report of the association including the audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2019. The CWQA audited financial statement for fiscal 2019 was previously sent to you. 

  2. To elect Directors and Officers from the slate of nominees. 

  3. Discussion with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) with respect to their work on lobbying for businesses about COVID-19


Please note that only designated members will be able to vote online as per the Federal Not For Profit Corporations Act.

Keynote Speaker: Michael Kirwin


Michael Kirwin is the Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). CFIB is the largest independent business association in Canada with over 110,000 member businesses. Mike has been with CFIB for 29 years and has held a number of positions including General Manager for Southwestern Ontario and then Senior VP Sales, supervising about 200 CFIB salespeople across Canada. More recently, Mike has been working to promote the benefits of CFIB membership to franchise groups and associations. 



Keynote Speaker: Ryan Mallough 


Ryan Mallough is the Director of Provincial Affairs, Ontario with the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. Ryan joined the federation in 2015 with the communications team before moving over to the Ontario advocacy team in 2016. Ryan has been active in managing the Ontario response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is responsible for the electricity, environment, municipal and cannabis & alcohol files. Ryan graduated from the University of Ottawa in political science before achieving his masters in journalism at Western University.
